The department was started in 1991 with an
intake of 30 students , which has increased to 90 students
presently. The department has well-experienced faculty. The
department is headed by Prof.Syed Allah Baksh having 40 years of teaching
& industrial experience.The college has a Computer Center that is one of the best in
twin cities . The centre has fully air-conditioned floor area of
6000sq .ft. and most modern hardware and software facilities .
It consists of 4 IBM P-IV Servers and 108 Pentium IV Machines arranged in four
laboratories . The Laboratories are arranged so that one can
work on SCO Unix, Linux,Windows NT , Windows 98 ,
2000,2003 platforms. . Other software facilities include Language
Compilers for C, C++ , Java , Fortran , COBOL , Pascal and
application Packages such as Oracle 10G , Developer 2000 , Microsoft Visual
Studio , Auto CAD Release 14 ,Oracle workgroup server,MSDN
Universal Edition,Rationale Rose,Win Proxy server,Red Hat
Linux,MS Office 2003,SCO OPEN SERVER ,Borland C++ Builder 6
,VC++ 5 and so on.

Hardware items
such as HP Laser Jet Printer , InkJet Colour
Printer , Dot Matrix Printers , Scanners , CD Writer , Pen
Plotter , Digitizer are available . Stabilized Power Supply
us of 10kva & 3 kva ensures reliable operations on the systems .
The subjects of Computer Science are
revised for every four years keeping in view the latest trends
in software development and new technological innovations , so
as to keep our graduates abreast with new technologies. All the
core courses offered during second and third year studies with
electives being offered in final year . The final year students
have also to do project work in some good industries so that
they are exposed to the job environment before they graduate.
Many Multinational companies like Satyam , Wipro , Infosys
do conduct campus selection and quite a good percentage of
students are selected every year. The Computer center has
excellent latest hardware and software facilities to conduct the
practicals , as well as do their project work.
The Department has an "Academic
Cell" whose members identify industries/Research establishment
to involve them in departmental activities and also explore the
possibility of undertaking consultancy / research projects . The
department also conducts work shops , guest lectures and
seminars regularly .
The pass percentage of students has
always been consistently excellent since its inception . The
students who graduate from our department have been regularly
getting admissions in foreign universities from USA , Australia
, UK , Canada , to pursue Master's Degree Program .
Mission :The main aim of the department is to import basic as well
as latest and advanced knowledege of Computer Science to
the students so as to prepare them to face with ease any tougher
assignments they might fare in future , be it in higher studies
or in jobs.
